      Works great and save time

It's a solder joint that is self-sealing and waterproof. I used it with a HF heat gun and nothing could have been easier. I would suggest practicing a couple of time to set how much heat to focus on the solder connection. Once heated to the proper temp, the solder will flow into the wire. Heat the adhesive after the solder connection and rotate the wire for even heating.

Did some more butt connections and these really look clean and professional. Low heat is better. Start on the solder connector first, and heat it all around. it will flow and cover the wire completely. then slowly do both end rotating the heal around the whole connector and the cover will shrink uniformly around the wire and seal the ends.

      Huge timesaver and great product!!

This solder sleeve works exactly how it is described and kills two birds with one stone of soldering wire as well as sealing the connection. It is a huge timesaver and a necessity for those that don't know how to solder properly.

There have been some negative reviews that the plastic melts. This is completely untrue unless you are holding the heat source too long (and not using a claim which I'm sure some people have attempted to do) and trying to melt the metal ring as opposed to just heating the metal ring. I'm sure those that are saying that are trying to melt the metal ring which is not the purpose. You are only supposed to heat it up so that it melts the solder inside and flows into the wire.
I took video of the process and will try to upload to YouTube and put a link here. I have attached some photos for you can see the melted Sauter coming out the ends of the metal ring and it is nowhere near melting the plastic.

EXCELLENT! As Long as You Do it Right!

I read the negative reviews before purchasing these and seems that they were disappointed that the heat shrink burned through when trying to get the solder to melt. I found that the key was regardless of the heating source, which I used a heat gun on low, you need to keep the gun moving around the solder point with constant back and forth motion. DO NOT allow your heat source to stay still directly on the solder or YOU WILL burn through the heat shrink. I found the heat shrink gets thicker as it melts but you can keep the gun within 2-3-inches with no problem with constant motion. It will take patience as it took me around 2-minutes to get the solder to melt. The shell of the solder won't melt completely, but you will see the melting silver solder spreading through the wires through the clear heat shirnk. Great product!

BUY now, these are 100% legit

Awesome, awesome. These things really work. Not as advertised but they do work well. When using a high powered heat gun (necessary to melt the solder) the plastic shrink tube material shrinks and melts WAY before the solder. You have to trust that heating enough to melt the solder is not going to completely destroy the shrink tube. It hasn’t yet. The design is very well thought out and executed. On each side of the solder joint there are small colored sleeves that are there for a purpose. They shrink quickly and hold the two wire ends together as the rest of the magic is happening (wires are NOT falling apart while in process). These also seal each side of the connection solidly, even more than the shrink tube .
